Matteo Armando Sampaolo, flauto

Matteo Armando Sampaolo è nato nelle Marche nel 1989. Inizia a suonare il flauto con Fiorenzo Di Tommaso e dopo il diploma presso il Conservatorio Rossini di Pesaro con lode e menzione prosegue gli studi conseguendo un master in Music Performance sotto la guida di Thies Roorda al Koninklijk Conservatorium di Den Haag (Paesi Bassi).

Partecipa alle masterclass di Emily Beynon, Rien de Reede, Andrea Oliva e Sir James Galway e fondamentale per la sua formazione si rivela il metodo flautistico DentroIlSuono ideato e coordinato da Giampaolo Pretto. Matteo è stato allievo effettivo dell’Orchestra Giovanile Italiana, dell’European Union Youth Orchestra (EUYO) e della Grafenegg Academy Orchestra, vincitore del primo premio al XXXIV concorso “Cilea” di Palmi ed assegnatario della borsa di studio intitolata a Severino Gazzelloni. In ambito professionale ha collaborato con l’orchestra della Fondazione Arena di Verona, l’Orchestra Haydn di Bolzano e Trento, la Fondazione Orchestra Regionale delle Marche e l’Orchestra Filarmonica di Torino prima di assumere il ruolo di primo flauto presso l’Orchestra Regionale Toscana e di vincere successivamente il concorso di primo flauto presso la Fondazione Teatro la Fenice di Venezia. Si è esibito sotto la guida di grandi bacchette come Vladimir Ashkenazy, Myung-Whun Chung, Fabio Luisi, Riccardo Muti, Gianandrea Noseda, Daniel Oren e Juraj Valchua.

Matteo si dedica con passione alla musica da camera ed all’insegnamento, esibendosi in duo col pianista Alessandro Soccorsi, diffondendo il metodo DentroIlSuono del quale è docente certificato e svolgendo il ruolo di tutor degli strumenti a fiato presso l’European Music Campus Orchestra di Grafenegg.

Alessandro Soccorsi graduated from the Conservatory ‘Alfredo Casella’ in L’Aquila in 2003 and continued his studies at the Arts Academy in Rome. He moved to the Netherlands in 2008 where he studied for his master’s degree at the Royal Conservatory, The Hague. Alessandro Soccorsi has performed as a soloist and as a chamber musician with ensembles in numerous festivals and music events in Italy as well as in the Netherlands. His participation in the music programme ‘The Age of Boulez’ organised by the Boulez Foundation was highly praised. In the Liszt Festival at the Royal Conservatory he was soloist in Liszt’s Second Piano Concerto and in 2013 with the Brabant Orchestra in Mozart’s Piano Concerto in D minor. In 2016 he was a soloist with the Orchestra Sinfonica Abruzzese performing in the L’Aquila Contemporanea Festival, in which he performed he premiered in Italy “Piano Eros” for piano and orchestra by J.Adams and “Doktor Faustus:Chapter XXIV”for piano solo by F.Capogrosso. Alessandro participated in several chamber music projects and events: two of them leaded to the release of two CD’s published by Naxos in 2017 and 2019, collaborating with musicians such as Olivier Patey, Alexey Ogrintchouk from Concertgebouw Orkest and Thies Roorda, flutist of Radio Filharmonisch Orkest till 2013.

His performance of Vivier’s Shiraz was praised unanimously by new music lovers and connoisseurs and it triggered his interest in the work of this composer. After careful study of the piano and chamber music works by Vivier he decided to present a CD with some of the most interesting pieces, released in 2019 by the label Brilliant Classics. He is a chamber music professor at the Royal Conservatory, The Hague.
